Gay Persuasion is about Being Gay in a Homophobic Society. Despite what you may think, there are forces out there who would like to put all Gays back into the Closet. Like George Bush, Stephen Harper, Pope Benedict. This is about talking about why being Gay is as natural as being male or female is.
You should if you are a Homosexual, because Pederasty is the term used to describe the loving relationship between an older male and a younger male in Ancient Times1. Yep, Ancient Times and we are talking like way back too. Like in 1650 BCE for example, that predates Christianity by what, nearly 2000 years?
Think about it, homosexuality existed before the Catholic Church decided we were an abomination against God. It was as normal back then as possible, was even a highly regarded form of relationships between older males and the younger ones.
The concept being that an older male would mentor the younger male into the art of mandhood, which included sexual relations between the two. In some of the Ancient Greek Cultures of the time, it also involved formal ceremonies where the Older Male professed his LOVE for the Younger Male (young men of legal age of consent, appropriate for that time) and it even involved the showering of gifts and a whole bunch more.
What is interesting is that even the Warrior State, the Spartans had a form of man/boy relations, and was even REQUIRED. Now think about that, and then ask yourself, how come the United States is so bent out of shape if a fag wants to serve in the Military?
Kind of gives a whole new meaning to Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, doesn’t it?
Only the second state in the Greatest Democracy Ever to make it legal for Gay Men & Woman to marry. In a 4 to 3 decision, the California Supreme’s noted that while there is a civil registry, union in place, it simply is NOT ENOUGH of a guarantee. Kind of says it all, doesn’t it?
But in the justices’ recent 4-3 decision, they stated that domestic partnerships are not a good enough substitute for marriage. (source - CBC News)
Now you just know that the religious right wing nuts will be out in force seeking a Constitutional Ban on same sex marriage, because after all, the Rule of Law doesn’t count in the United States, least not when it comes to pushing their own narrow religious views on the Minorities of the country.
Rather sad that, but in all honesty, how can it be anything but Marriage?
If people want to be kept safe, to have their rights guaranteed, the only safe way is to insure that it can’t be trampled on by future legislation, or that if someone does want to, they’d have to make it universal. Now we know that isn’t going to happen, which is why it really is essential to have it as Marriage.
The California Supreme Court, narrowly, saw it that way too. After all, isn’t the precept, One Law for All?
Basically the story is about a Principle in the Memphis system, who posted publicly a list of students, due to her being fed up by their public display of affection. In addition, she notified the parents and that such outrageous behaviour wouldn’t be tolerated. Now, from the news story, it doesn’t say how many STRAIGHT COUPLES were outed, or how many of THEIR PARENTS WERE CALLED.
Though it does talk about a gay couple, who were outed. One in grade eleven, the other in grade ten, and their parents were informed.

The ACLU is supposedly taking up the case, and it makes you wonder, just what is going on with some people? I mean come, these are teenagers, and kids are cruel, when they want to be. So tell me again, how she did the right thing? Least that is the position of the School Board, and they claim she never made any reference or inference to the sexual orientation, merely named names. So let me see if I have this right, you are post names of COUPLES, and BOTH ARE MALES, but that isn’t saying they are GAY?
I wonder, is she that stupid, or are people just that homophobic in Memphis?
It is just one more clear example of why the GLBT Society can accept nothing but Marriage, in order to help erase this double standard. I don’t know, but I enjoy being able to walk hand in hand with the wife, in public. Just like any other COUPLE DOES.
This bullshit, is just that. It shows the racism that exists, and it makes you realize, if you are gay, just how Blacks must have felt when they were hounded, denied equality, simply for being different. Inter racial couples were hung, beaten, and spit upon, and yet no one seems to understand, that is how gay couples feel today, specially in America.
